KAMPALA — Ugandan rapper Ivan Wabwire, better known as Da Agent, has been recognised by Bossip Africa after recording a rapid-fire performance measured at 8.5 syllables per second.

The recognition follows an assessment of a passage from his 2024 song “Tewepima Nange”, where the rapper delivered 33 syllables in 3.75 seconds.

Bossip Africa issued Da Agent a record certificate on September 19, 2026, describing the feat as “Fastest Rapper in East Africa.”

The certificate, issued under the Bossip Africa Record Registry, lists the performance as having been recorded in Kampala, Uganda, in 2024.

According to the record details, the measurement was independently conducted by Derrick Ssentamu on September 19, with the final rate calculated at 8.5 syllables per second.

The assessment involved timing the passage with a stopwatch while playing the recording at reduced speed to allow for syllable counting. The certificate also notes that natural Luganda and English pronunciation were used during the assessment.

The record number on the certificate is BA-RR-2026-001.

Bossip Africa editor-in-chief Nathan Atiluk signed the certificate recognising the performance.

For Da Agent, the recognition puts a measurable figure to the fast-paced delivery that has featured in his music, particularly in performances requiring rapid movement between Luganda and English.

The recognition also comes at a time when Uganda’s rap scene continues to accommodate different approaches to delivery, from conventional flows to increasingly rapid lyrical performances.
