Mohan Babu University & PW Join Hands, Led by Vishnu Manchu

Mohan Babu University, widely regarded as one of Andhra Pradesh's leading institutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with PhysicsWallah's career-skills platform, PW Skills. The tie-up aims to smooth the transition of students from classroom learning to the workplace, weaving structured industry exposure, hands-on training and career preparation directly into the MBU academic experience.

The timing of this collaboration matters. India's education-to-employment gap continues to be a serious national concern. The Human Capital for Viksit Bharat report puts overall youth employability at only 54.8% in 2025, while Indian companies report a 63% talent shortage, an issue especially visible in IT, engineering services and sales. Adding to this, the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025 projects that close to 39% of workers' existing skill sets will change or become outdated by 2030, with analytical thinking, adaptability, technological literacy, AI and big data ranked among the top priorities for employers. For institutions such as Mohan Babu University, these figures make clear that practical, industry-aligned learning can no longer sit at the margins of higher education; it needs to be part of the curriculum itself.

This move is part of a larger pattern rather than a one-off announcement. Over the last year, the university's leadership, including Pro-Chancellor Vishnu Manchu, has been building a wider network of industry alliances with the same goal in mind. Earlier partnerships with L&T EduTech under the "Educate India" initiative, together with certification programmes covering AWS, Cisco, SAP, Salesforce and Google Cloud through the university's Career Development Centre, have already opened structured routes into corporate careers for MBU students. The PhysicsWallah collaboration builds on this foundation, adding career-skills training meant to stay relevant well after students graduate.

Mohan Babu University has also been broadening its presence in digital skilling more generally. Not long before the PhysicsWallah announcement, the university signed a landmark MoU with LinkedIn, giving students, faculty and researchers across departments institution-wide access to more than 25,000 LinkedIn Learning courses, verified micro-certifications and AI-driven, role-aligned learning paths. Seen alongside the PhysicsWallah partnership, the direction set by MBU's leadership is unmistakable: employability is being built into the four years of a degree, not left as an afterthought once it ends.

This same philosophy came through clearly at the university's recent milestones. Mohan Babu University's third convocation saw thousands of students receiving their degrees, with honorary doctorates awarded to distinguished achievers in the presence of notable dignitaries, a reflection of how far the institution, founded by actor-educationist Mohan Babu, has grown since its early convocations into a campus graduating thousands of students each year across engineering, management, sciences and other disciplines.

For students, the practical outcome of this new arrangement should be tangible: access to PW Skills' career-focused modules covering technical and workplace competencies that are in demand, offered alongside, not instead of, the university's core academic programmes. The partnership forged by Vishnu Manchu and Mohan Babu University's leadership with the PhysicsWallah platform mirrors a wider shift taking place across Indian higher education, where universities are choosing to treat industry readiness as part of the everyday learning process instead of a placement-season exercise, giving students verifiable and portable proof of the skills employers are actively looking for.

As automation, AI adoption and shifting skill requirements continue to reshape the world of work, partnerships of this kind point to where Indian higher education is headed. By pairing academic rigour with continuously updated, industry-relevant training, MBU is aligning itself with institutions betting that a graduate's strongest advantage in the years ahead will come not just from the degree itself, but from how effectively that degree is combined with demonstrable, real-world ability.

With this MoU, Mohan Babu University adds another notable name to its expanding roster of industry collaborators, reinforcing an approach that Pro-Chancellor Vishnu Manchu has consistently backed: one where academic learning and employability are treated as two parts of a single outcome, rather than separate goals altogether.
